Julie Anne San Jose on Benjamin Alves: 'Siya first na pinakilala ko sa parents'

Benjamin Alves and Julie Anne San Jose are "exclusively dating."

Earlier on Saturday, January 7, the two stars of new teleserye Pinulot Ka Lang sa Lupa had their first interview together on the weekly morning show Sarap Diva.

Julie Anne began, "Nag-start po kami May."

Benjamin threw in, "Pagka-graduate ni Julie sa college."

Their friendship took a turn for the better during Julie Anne's 10th anniversary concert In Control at the KIA Theatre in Cubao last May 2016.

MEETING THE PARENTS. The first time Benjamin and Julie Anne worked together was in an episode of Maynila.

"Four years ago lang po 'yon," recalled Benjamin, who then played a brotherly role to Julie Anne's character.

From their first encounter, the singer-actress felt "intimidated" by Benjamin.

Julie Anne said, "Nung hindi pa kami nag-uusap, hindi pa kami nagiging close, nakaka-intimidate kasi siya na parang very composed.

"Hanggang nag-start na kami mag-usap 'tapos ayon pala, kalog siya, may sense of humor.

"And one thing na gusto ko sa kanya, may takot sa Diyos 'tapos close din sa family, mahal na mahal din ang parents.

"Marami ako natutunan sa kanya."

Julie Anne admitted that Benjamin was the first suitor she introduced to her parents.

On the other hand, Benjamin has yet to introduce Julie Anne to his family.

"Last Christmas, pumunta po ako ng Guam, alam naman po nila.
