Short clips with Gal Gadot, Salma Hayek, other actresses ‘introduce’ Oscar categories

The nominations for this year's Academy Awards have been announced, with fans already cheering on their favorite films, stars, and directors for the big prizes.

To help shine a light on some of the less heralded technical categories, several actresses appear in a series of short clips posted by the Academy on social media. They were also played during the livestream of the announcement of the nominations.

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, for instance, appears in the one "introducing" production design. Other stars appearing in the series are Priyanka Chopra (cinematography), Salma Hayek (costume design), Rebel Wilson (animation), Michelle Rodriguez (original score), Michelle Yeoh (visual effects), Zoe Saldana (sound), Molly Shannon (film editing), and Rosario Dawson (makeup and hairstyling).
