NBA: Lakers get first win after Brown's exit


Kobe Bryant dropped 27 points with nine rebounds and seven assists, as the Lakers got their first win after Mike Brown's firing on Saturday (Manila time), 101-77, to get their second win in six outings.
 
The Lakers were up 47-38 at the half, before outscoring the Warriors 25-17 in the third. Up 72-55 entering the fourth, Los Angeles kept Golden State at bay in last 12 minutes to cruise to a victory.
 
Pau Gasol stabilized the Lakers with 14 points and 16 rebounds, while Jordan Hill and Metta World Peace chipped in 14 and 10, respectively.
 
Stephen Curry paced the Warriors with 18, while Klay Thompson added 15 to drop to 3-3.
 
Earlier in the day, Tim Duncan had a vintage performance, scoring 23 points with 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals to give the San Antonio Spurs its fifth win in six games. Patrick Mills had 18 for Greg Popoviich's squad, while Kawhi Leonard added 11.
 
Jason Thompson and Marcus Thornton had 17 apiece for the Kings who drop to 2-4 after the defeat. - RAF, GMA News
