PBA: Rain or Shine rookie Tiu dethrones Macapagal in All-Star three-point shootout 


Chris Tiu finished with 21 big points in the final round to take home the 2013 PBA All-Star three-point shooting crown, Friday at Digos City, Davao del Sur. With the victory, the Rain or Shine rookie unseated defending champion Mark Macapagal of the Barako Bull Energy Cola.

Air21's KG Canaleta started the competition with 13 makes, while Alaska's JV Casio had 15. Ginebra's Josh Urbiztondo chalked up 11, and Willie Miller had 11 points, representing GlobalPort Batang Pier.

Marcio Lassiter had 11 points for Petron, while Chris Tiu registered 17 points. James Yap struggled with only eight makes.

Defending champion Mark Macapagal only had 11 points. 

With the best scores, Canaleta, Casio and Tiu advanced to the finals. Canaleta went first, sinking 18. Casio struggled with the first rack, sinking none, before the Alaska point guard finished with 13. However Chris Tiu finished with 21 big points to unseat Macapagal. - GMA News
