PBA: Cardona reunites with Pumaren as Meralco, Talk 'N Text add Blue Eagles


The Air21 Express reunited Mark Cardona with his De La Salle University Green Archers head coach Franz Pumaren, as part of a three-team trade that also involves the Meralco Bolts acquiring Rabeh Al-Hussaini and the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters adding former number one overall pick Nonoy Baclao, the PBA announced, Monday, via their official Twitter account.


In the first step of the trade, the Air21 Express acquired Rabeh Al-Hussaini for Rob Reyes and the 2015 second-round pick of the Express.

The Express then sent Al-Hussaini and Nelbert Omolon to the Meralco Bolts, in exchange for Mark Cardona and Nonoy Baclao.

Finally, to complete the deal, Air21 shipped out Baclao and Eric Salamat to Talk 'N Text, in exchange for Pamboy Raymundo and Bam Gamalinda.

In the end, Air21 winds up with Pamboy Raymundo (1.23 points, 0.48 assists in 6.13 minutes), who could start at point guard for the team, along with Mark Cardona (12.12 points, 3.63 rebounds in 27.23 minutes) and Bam Gamalinda (1.17 points, 0.54 rebounds, 5.21 minutes).

Meralco adds height with Rabeh Al-Hussaini (6.81 points, 3.81 rebounds), while bringing back veteran Nelbert Omolon (4.74 points, 3.09 rebounds in 17.34 minutes) and solidifying the role of recently-acquired Gary David as their top scorer.

Finally, former Ateneo head coach Norman Black lets go of one Blue Eagles while getting back two, Baclao (3.71 points, 3.16 rebounds, 0.71 blocks in 16.10 minutes) and Salamat (1.00 points, 1.00 rebounds, 1.00 steals in 10.50 minutes), while also reuniting Rob Reyes (4.60 points, 4.40 rebounds in 15.67 minutes) with the TNT franchise. - AMD, GMA News
