NBA: Bucks have just enough to edge road-poor Magic

MILWAUKEE - Guard Nate Wolters' three-pointer with 29 seconds to play gave the Milwaukee Bucks the lead for good in a 104-100 victory over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night (Wednesday, PHL time) at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Starting in place of guard Brandon Knight, who injured his foot earlier in the day, Wolters scored 15 points and finished with eight assists and seven rebounds.

Knight, averaging 40 minutes per game during the month of February, still played 35 minutes. He was 3-of-13 from the field but went 12-for-12 from the line to finish with 18 points, including 10 in the first quarter.

Forward Caron Butler led Milwaukee with 21 points while forward Khris Middleton added 12 for the Bucks, who shot 42 percent from the field but made 12 of 26 3-pointers.

As a result of the loss, Orlando's road record is now 3-23 this season, worst in the NBA.

Wolters' shot capped off a back-and-forth final stretch.

Milwaukee went ahead by eight on forward John Henson's dunk with 8:56 to play, but after a Magic turnover, the Bucks missed their next three shots and Orlando scored seven straight to make it an 89-88 game with 6:43 to play.

Coming out of a timeout, Henson scored a quick basket, giving the Bucks a three-point lead, but Orlando tied it up on a three-pointer by guard E'Twaun Moore.

Forward Giannis Antetokounpo broke the tie with a long three-pointer. He got a timely steal on the defensive end and found Wolters for an easy layup, but Orlando answered and tied the game one last time on guard Nikola Vucevic's jumper with 50 seconds to play.

The Magic got 21 points from guard Aaron Afflalo and 19 from Vucevic.

Forward Tobias Harris added 16.

While Orlando shot 50 percent in the first half, Milwaukee led by as many as 14 and went into the break up 53-47.

Nelson gave Orlando its first lead since the first quarter on a 20-footer with four minutes left in the third, but Milwaukee scored seven straight points, including a three-pointer from Butler, to take a 81-77 lead into the fourth. - Reuters
