(Updated 4:11pm) The PBA on Tuesday approved a swap of big men between the GlobalPort Batang Pier and the San Miguel Beermen, with the former acquiring Yousef Taha in exchange for Justin Chua, with the trade confirmation appearing on their official Twitter account.

The trade had actually been proposed and approved by both parties prior to the start of the Commissioner’s Cup, and would have been part of the deal that saw SMB add guard Sol Mercado. However, Taha needed to spend at least two conferences away from GlobalPort before he could return, thus, the swap was put on hold.

Perhaps owing to the deal, and because of the presence of imports, neither player was used that much in the Commissioner's Cup. Chua normed 3.86 points and 1.86 rebounds over an average of 11.57 minutes with two DNPs for rookie mentor Pido Jarencio, while Taha saw action in just three games, with each stint lasting just one minute.

During the Philippine Cup, the rookie Chua normed 5.31 points and 3.85 rebounds, while Taha put together 2.17 markers and 1.58 boards.

GlobalPort missed out on the Commissioner's Cup quarterfinals, while San Miguel Beer was upset in two games by the Air21 Express. - AMD, GMA News
