‘Skywalker’ Samboy Lim out of ICU


Philippine basketball legend Avelino "Samboy" Lim Jr. was finally moved out of the intensive care unit of the Medical City on Saturday.
 
Lim was transferred to the hospital's intermediate care unit, sports columnist Joaquin Henson told GMA News' Mark Zambrano in a text message.
 
In the text message to GMA News' Zambrano, Henson said Lim is "now out of the ICU."
 
"Trache still in throat but he's breathing on his own," Henson added.
 
Earlier, Henson said on his Twitter account that while Lim is still in a coma, his organs are stable and he is breathing on his own

Lim was brought to Medical City on Nov. 28 after collapsing during an exhibition game.
 
He was reportedly stretching on the sidelines during the game at the Ynares Sports Arena when he collapsed.
 
The player who earned the nickname "The Skywalker" for his aerial skills was a member of the San Miguel Beer team that copped the 1989 Grand Slam championship. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
