Manny Pacquiao in lineup for Rookies-Sophomores game in PBA All-Star weekend

Manny Pacquiao could lend his presence to the Rookies-Sophomore Game during the PBA All-Star Weekend in Puerto Princesa, Palawan from March 5 to 8.

The Filipino ring icon, a PBA rookie who serves as playing coach of expansion team Kia, has been included in the lineup for the squad of first years.

He leads a roster that includes top picks Stanley Pringle (GlobalPort), Kevin Alas (Talk 'N Text), Ronald Pascual (San Miguel Beer), Matt Ganuelas (Talk 'N Text), and Chris Banchero (Alaska). Rounding out the Rookies squad are Jake Pascual (Barako Bull), Anthony Semerad (GlobalPort), and Brian Heruela (Blackwater).

They will face off with a Sophomore squad that includes Raymond Almazan of Rain or Shine, Justin Melton of Purefoods, Eric Camson of NLEX, Jeric Fortuna of San Miguel Beer, Alex Nuyles of Blackwater, Terrence Romeo of GlobalPort, RR Garcia of Barako Bull, and LA Revilla of Kia.

It remains to be seen, however, if Pacquiao will be able to play in the game because of his other duties, which include the start of his training for an upcoming fight, possibly against Floyd Mayweather.

Because of his busy schedule, Pacquiao has not seen action for Kia in the ongoing Commissioner's Cup. He played in two games for the squad in the Philippine Cup, failing to score each time. —JST, GMA News
