Falcons' Ahanmisi, Manganti intent on beating Archers after 7th loss

Despite a combined 50-point performance from Jerrick Ahanmisi and Sean Manganti, the Adamson Falcons still faltered against the DLSU Green Archers in overtime, 79-78, during Saturday's match at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Ahanmisi led the Falcons with 27 points and seven rebounds, while Manganti listed 23 markers and seven boards.

The loss against La Salle was Adamson's seventh straight since head coach Franz Pumaren took over the San Marcelino-based squad's program in Season 79. The Green Archers were formerly handled by Pumaren.

Even with their big performance, the loss gave Ahanmisi and Manganti additional motivation for when they play La Salle next time.

"I don't really have much to say. I just wanna beat them the next time we play them," Ahanmisi said. "I wanna beat them so bad. This one hurts, but we'll take it one game at a time, we're not gonna change our mentality," added Manganti.

Asked about what he thought about DLSU winning against Pumaren's squad for the seventh consecutive time, head coach Louie Gonzalez said, "Siguro dahil pareho kami ng ginagawa eh. We both do run and jump, full court defense. If you do that everyday, dapat alam mo rin kung paano i-counter.

"Pero I'm proud of my players kasi to counter that, you have to be mentally tough, you have to be really disciplined."

The loss gave Adamson its second defeat this season. — DVM, GMA News
