Warriors' Kerr giving Green 'some time off'

Golden State forward Draymond Green will sit out Saturday night's game at Dallas because of an injured toe, but head coach Steve Kerr doesn't sound as if he's in a hurry to rush him back.

Kerr said Green will be out an undetermined amount of time, according to The Athetic.

"We decided to give him some time off. Don't know how long it'll be. The toe (sprain) is lingering," Kerr said.

This comes on the heels of the controversy surrounding an on-court argument with teammate Kevin Durant.

Green, 28, was sidelined for a pair of games last week because of lingering soreness in his sprained toe and right foot. But the three-time All-Star returned Monday night against the Los Angeles Clippers and instead of passing to an open Durant under Golden State's basket calling for the ball in the final seconds of regulation, Green lost control of his dribble and turned it over.

After Durant complained near the Warriors' bench about not getting the ball, Green directed a tirade toward Durant. The Warriors punished Green, suspending him for Tuesday's victory over Atlanta. He was back for the team's worst game of the season, a 107-86 loss against Houston on Thursday.

The Warriors also are without five-time All-Star Stephen Curry, who is nursing a strained groin and will miss at least four more games. —Field Level Media/Reuters
