Pacquiao fans suffer heart attacks while watching bout

The excitement of watching Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao proved too much for three of his fans, who suffered heart attacks while watching him fight Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto Saturday (Sunday in Manila). A Davao City policeman died, an 86-year-old Cebu resident had a heart attack and a 55-year-old Bacolod resident had a mild stroke as they watched Pacquiao pummel Cotto in their scheduled 12-round slugfest. Radio dzBB’s Davao affiliate reported SPO4 Jose Paco, 59, suffered a heart attack while celebrating Pacquiao’s victory over Cotto at a regional mobile police headquarters. The report quoted Paco’s wife as saying that the police officer had not been feeling well Sunday but forced himself to get up and report to headquarters just to watch the televised bout.
