Roger Mayweather: Unified champ Khan on steroids like Pacquiao

The Mayweathers are at it again. After accusing ring icon Manny Pacquiao of steroids use, a member of boxing's most controversial family is now targeting reigning light welterweight champion Amir Khan, whom Roger Mayweather said is likewise into performance enhancing drugs. The allegations obviously stemmed shortly after the 24-year-old Khan's remarkable fifth-round knockout of Zab Juddah to unify the World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) 140-pound title belts. The Bolton, England-born Khan is Pacquiao's regular sparmate and also trains under Freddie Roach. Like Khan, Pacquiao had been accused time and again by the Mayweathers—including Floyd Jr and his father—of being under performance enhancing drugs, an allegation that forced the Filipino boxing champion of taking them to court. Clean fighter Khan denied he's ever used steroids, even stressing that he'll agree to any drug-testing procedure if and when the Mayweathers would insist on it should a fight between the two of them materialize in the near future. "I am clean fighter. I get drug-tested in between, before and after fights," Khan told SkySports. "Whatever test he (Mayweather), wants me to do, I'm happy to do it." The random-style drug testing procedure, which Floyd Jr, contends he and Pacquiao undergo before they meet in the ring, had been the major reason why negotiations failed twice to put together the fight the world definitely wants to see. Khan believes such ploy is more of a psychological tactic on the part of Mayweathers, who are trying to get into his and Pacquiao's heads. "When you see a fighter being very successful, I think people just want to put the fighter down and I think they were doing that by saying I was on steroids," said Khan, a silver medalist in the 2004 Athens Olympics.
