Pacquiao taken to hospital, while Marquez suffers broken nose, possible concussion

Juan Manuel Marquez's shocking win over Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao, Saturday (Sunday, PHL time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena did not come without a cost.

Marquez was diagnosed by doctors as having a broken nose and possible concussion, Top Rank Boxing tweeted out.

His opponent though, Pacquiao, was taken to the hospital as a precaution, following his sixth round knockout.

Pacquiao was hit square on the chin by a right from Marquez, as the Mexican countered a 1-2 combo. He then fell flat on the canvas floor, knocked out cold and twitching.

Marquez later said of the punch, "After I saw that he was going to throw the 1-2, I stepped to the right and I hit him flush, and that's why he went down." - AMD, GMA News
