Getty Images wants Pacquiao, aides suspended for photographer attack - Yahoo Sports

Despite getting an apology from Pacquiao advisor Michael Koncz, the vice president/corporate counsel for Getty Images is demanding that Manny Pacquiao, Koncz, and assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez be suspended, following a reported attack on one of their photographers.

Lizanne Vaughn, corporate counsel of Getty Images, has written a letter to the Nevada Athletic Commission asking for a "significant suspension period" for the trio, reports Kevin Iole, who first publicized the incident.

"We expect that you will take all appropriate actions against Mr. Pacquiao and his entourage, and expect that such will include a significant suspension period," Vaughn wrote.

"We expect that you share our concerns with respect to the ability of media to cover these events safely and will act accordingly. It is our view that an apology, while appropriate, is an insufficient consequence alone and will certainly not deter similar behavior in the future."

Koncz had issued an apology via The Ring.

Al Bello, the photographer in question, had been taking pictures of a knocked-out Pacquiao, which enraged Koncz and Fernandez, who then physically went after Bello. Photographs of the incident then surfaced online.

Keith Kizer, of the Nevada Athletic Commission, has already promised a full investigation into the matter, while the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines has also condemned what had happened.  - AMD, GMA News
