Juan Manuel Marquez says his next fight is against Timothy Bradley Jr.

The two boxers who have stained Manny Pacquiao's record in recent months are reportedly set to fight each other next. Juan Manuel Marquez, who KO-ed Pacquiao in December, and Timothy Bradley Jr., the reigning WBO welterweight titlist who controversially eked out a split-decision win over the Filipino ring icon last June, are set to fight each other in September, Marquez said in a radio interview. While there is no official announcement yet, Marquez, who opted not to retire earlier this year, told ESPN Deportes Radio that he had been given the option to fight either Bradley or WBO interim-junior welterweight champion Mike Alvarado, and opted to fight the former. "They discussed two opponents for September 14: Mike Alvarado and Timothy Bradley," Marquez said. "I like challenges, Bradley would be a difficult fight for me. "Apart from being world champion, it would be a challenge to fight him and win another big challenge title in a fifth division, which for me is something that filled me with pride to have the opportunity to do." Despite Marquez's statement though, Timothy Bradley's manager Cameron Dunkin has denied that a fight between the two has been set, telling The Desert Sun, "We don't know anything about it, I don't know any hint about it. "I know Monica [Bradley's wife] don't know anything about it." Many though that Marquez had returned to boxing in the hopes of another big payday by fighting Pacquiao for a fifth time, but the Mexican is convinced he has nothing left to prove against his bitter rival, saying in March, "I wouldn't want a fifth fight because we got what we wanted.
