Pacquiao already has a theme song for fight with Mayweather

Like his previous bouts, eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao will fight for the pride of the Filipinos as he finally clashes with Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 2.

The Sarangani representative said he dedicates the fight to his fans shortly after the American boxer made the announcement on Saturday.

With the fight expected to go down in history as one of the biggest and most anticipated bouts in the sport, Pacman said an unreleased track he recorded will be the theme song here in the country.

"Yung isang album ko na hindi narelease noon, 'Lalaban Ako Para sa Pilipino', ito 'yung magiging theme song for this fight," Pacquiao said in a live interview on "24 Oras" on Saturday.

Pacquiao also thanked the fans for their support and prayers as he embraced the role he said the Lord has given him.

"Salamat po sa ating Panginoon na isa tayo sa ginawa niyang instrument para makilala ang mga Pilipino," the boxer said.

Pacman's family, along with the rest of the boxing world, was thrilled with the news that the fight will finally happen, but Pacquiao himself is keeping his cool with the development.

"Excited nga ang lahat, ako relax lang ako," he said.

Pacquiao started his official training the same day the announcement was made, beginning with jogging, practicing in the gym, and playing basketball to prepare for the fight. — Marisse Panaligan/JDS, GMA News
