Mayweather trainer claims hand injury prevented Floyd from knocking out Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao isn't the only one claiming to have been hurt during the mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather earlier this month.

Mayweather's outspoken uncle and trainer Roger is convinced that his nephew could have stopped Manny Pacquiao if it wasn't for Floyd's injured hands during the fight.

In an interview with ontheropesboxing.com, Roger said a rematch should take place because his nephew is capable of knocking Pacquiao out when healthy.

"I think it was one-sided but I think they should have a rematch. Why I say that is because if Floyd fought Pacquiao with good motherf-ing hands, he would stop Pacquiao, period," said Roger.

"He would stop Pacquiao. I did say that Pacquiao fought a good fight but I also know that Floyd’s hands were hurting because I train Floyd, but it is what it is."

Roger who is responsible for holding the punch mitts for his nephew in training camp, also downplayed the role of his brother, Floyd Mayweather Sr. during the bout.

"Floyd [Sr.] don’t even train Floyd, so it don’t make no difference about what he says. Don’t mean sh** about what he said. Floyd don’t train Floyd, and he didn’t even know Floyd’s hand was hurting," told Roger.

"I knew Floyd’s hands were hurting because I train Floyd every day. What does he know? He don’t know nothing. Floyd’s hands were hurting every day, but he fought him anyways." -- RAF/JST, GMA News
