Mayweather should retire instead of fighting easy opponent, says Floyd Sr.

Floyd Mayweather's father and trainer Floyd Sr. would rather see his son call it a day instead of picking an easy opponent for his final fight in September.

Coming off his biggest career victory over Manny Pacquiao a couple of months ago, Mayweather recently stated he's looking to fight either Karim Mayfield or Andre Berto.

"My honest opinion, if he feels that way, he should get on out of the game," Mayweather Sr. told mlive.com.

Mayfield, 34, holds a record of 19-2-1 with 11 knockouts. He hasn't fought since November and has never been in a twelve-round fight in his career. Berto (30-3, 23KOs), meanwhile, is a former world welterweight champion who lost 3 of his last 6 fights.

Other than not wanting to see his 38-year-old son go up against weak opposition, Mayweather Sr. also fears that boxing politics might turn against their favor.

"The analysts, everybody, they don't like Floyd. When it goes like this, it's just a matter of time. They're looking for the next guy," says Mayweather Sr.
