'BRING IT ON'

Horn coach assures: We'll beat Pacquiao again in rematch

Jeff Horn's coach Glenn Rushton expressed confidence that his ward will beat Manny Pacquiao again should a rematch between the two fighters push through.

Ruston made the pronouncement during a news conference in Brisbane after Horn pulled off a shocking unanimous decision victory over Pacquiao on Sunday. The result caused controversy in the boxing community as punch stats showed Pacquiao had dominated the fight.

"I can assure you, if there's a rematch, we will beat Manny Pacquiao by a far bigger margin," Rushto said in a report by Mark Zambrano on "News To Go."

"We have no doubt whatsoever about the outcome of that fight, and we say, bring it on, bring it on," Rushton added.

Several government officials of Queensland, Australia were in attendance, including the Premier and Lord Mayor of Brisbane, who praised their new champion.

"It would be the best opportunity for Queensland and Brisbane to say, thanks Jeff,  job well done, congratulations, you're a world champion," Queensland Premier  Annastacia Palaszczuk said, referring to the parade and the ceremony awaiting Horn on Thursday where he would be presented with the keys to the City.

During the news conference, Horn addressed the negativity toward his victory.

"There's always gonna be the backlash where people are gonna say I got lucky, or whatever, there's always gonna be the saying that I didn't win the fight, but I feel like I won the fight," Horn said.

"Now, hopefully, I'm a bit more recognized, and I've established myself in the boxing community a bit more," he added. —Margaret Claire Layug/JST/KVD, GMA News
