Brandon Figueroa plans to dominate against Mark Magsayo in upcoming fight

Former super bantamweight champion Brandon Figueroa plans to tap all the weapons in his arsenal when he takes on ex-featherweight champion Mark Magsayo this weekend, March 5 (Manila time) at Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.

Figueroa, 23-1-1 with 18 knockouts as a pro, is coming off a technical knockout victory over Carlos Castro last July. He believes that his size would prove difficult for the Filipino, citing that he also has the skills to emerge victorious on fight night.

“I have all the abilities, length, and size. I love to fight, I come to fight. I go in there to dominate my opponent, break him down, and get him out of there. That is my job,” Figueroa said.

“I trained really hard and I am just looking to go in there and do what I do best. I will do everything to win this fight. I feel like everybody will see that I am coming with everything.”

Magsayo, meanwhile, is coming off his first defeat after he failed to defend his then WBC world featherweight title to Rey Vargas also in July. According to Magsayo, his upcoming would be different as Figueroa likes to bang.

“Rey Vargas was just running. This guy comes to fight so big difference from the last guy I fought. Expect a brawl because Figueroa is not going to back out. I am sure he will come forward,” Magsayo told.

“Whatever happens we are ready for that. There is going to be a knockdown in this fight. I guarantee this is going to be a great fight because Figueroa is prepared too. He is ready for a war, and I am ready for a war. The winner of this fight is the fans.”
