Aurelio who? Hop in the first Pinoy sports supercar

Aurelio may not sound flashy now, but it might soon be associated with exotic brands such as Lamborghini, Maserati, and Ferrari.

That's because Aurelio is a new luxury sports supercar - and one developed and made right here in the Philippines.

It has a handmade chassis, 18-inch Rota wheels, VR4 suspension systems, switchblade doors, light weight fiberglass reinforced plastic and carbon fiber materials for the interiors, according to a report on ManilaLivewire.com.

Aurelio is the brainchild of young engineering student Kevin Factor, 21, and architect Brendan Aurelio of Factor Aurelio Automobile (FAA).

But its development faces some roadblocks - including a rumored conflict between Factor and Aurelio.

Yet, the Pinoy supercar already has a list of prospective buyers ranging from local politicians to foreign film directors and Hollywood actors.

On the other hand, an European car manufacturer is interested in mass-producing the Aurelio.

For now, the supercar will be featured at Trans Show, which will also hold the launching of Art Car Fest 2015. — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
