Football: Post-match locker room nudity not an issue for Spanish Queen

Part of the sexual harassment case filed by Cristina Ramos against Azkals Lexton Moy and Angel Guirado was an account of how Fil-Spanish mid-fielder Guirado allegedly presented himself in front of the former POC President in nothing else but his briefs.   Ramos, former President Fidel V. Ramos' daughter, apparently took offense. Azkals Team Manager Dan Palami was quick to issue his statement about the matter, saying:

"In my personal experience of the usual goings-on in the men’s locker room, the tension, excitement and nervous energy before a match often result in a lot of boisterous bantering. For someone who walks into this situation, this might appear as bordering on disrespect. But again, I am speaking only from my personal experience."
Guirado presenting himself in nothing else but his underwear may have offended Ramos, but apparently, even the most successful football teams are allowed to meet some very important people in the least amount of clothing.   Aby Go, a Filipino student in Spain, shared a link with GMA News Online that shows Queen Sofia of Spain greeting Spanish national football team defender Carles Puyol, with the latter clad only in his towel.   The queen of Spain's visit came after the national team's victory in the semifinals match against Germany at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It was Puyol who scored the lone goal in the match to book Spain's first World Cup final.   Spain went on to win the World Cup after beating the Netherlands, 1-0.     In the video, the Queen of Spain was seen to be going around the locker room to congratulate each member of the team. After she made her rounds, Carles Puyol appeared to have just come out of the shower. The two shook hands and the queen proceeded to give Puyol a round of applause for his goal.   As the queen proceeded to say a few words, Puyol went to his spot in the locker room. Interestingly, Puyol did not bother to wear anything else, and instead proceeded to listen to the queen while covered in just his towel.   Puyol's mostly-nude appearance in front of the queen did not raise any issues of sexual harassment or disrespect in Spain, despite a sizable strict Catholic population, similar to the Philippines.  - AMD, GMA News
