PHL Azkals stun Yemen with two goals in World Cup Qualifiers in Doha

The Azkals made Philippine football history again by winning Wednesday early morning (PHL time) their Round 2 match versus Yemen in Group H of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Misagh Bahadoran and Iain Ramsay shot in one goal each before a wildly cheering crowd in Doha, Qatar. 

Bahadoran's goal came at the 53rd minute while Ramsay's shot went in 74 minutes into the match at the Qatar SC Stadium.










It was a team effort for the 11 Azkals on the pitch: Neil Etheridge, Stephan Palla, Luke Woodland, Iain Ramsay, Manuel Ott, Misagh Bahadoran, Phil Younghusband, Daisuke Sato, Jerry Lucena, Javier Patiño, and Martin Steuble.

The Philippines' men's national football team now shares the lead with North Korea in Group H with six points each. The Azkals will face the contingent of Uzbekistan in a home game at the Philippine Sports Arena.
