Michael Martinez, one other, to compete in Triglav Trophy International Figure Skating Competition

The sole Filipino Olympian in the 2014 Winter Olympics and 17-year-old Samantha Cabiles, will compete in the upcoming Triglav Trophy International Figure Skating Competition in Jesenice, Slovenia, set for April 2 to 6.

Martinez is set to compete in the Senior Men’s category, while Cabiles is the country’s entrant in the Junior Ladies’ category.

Cabiles, who is of Filipino descent but lives in Michigan, USA, most recently placed second in the 2013 Philippine National Figure Skating Championships.

The Triglav Trophy is yearly international figure skating competition, which features three competition levels: novice, junior and senior. It is the last International Skating Union event of the season. - AMD, GMA News
