Kuya Germs proud of grandson Gab Moreno for winning Youth Olympic gold

Archer Luis Gabriel Moreno arrived in the Philippines on Friday night after his successful stint in the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.

 

Television host and talent manager German Moreno greeted him at the airport with an embrace, proud of his grandson's achievement, according to a report by GMA's DZBB.  

 

 

Gab made history on Sunday as he bagged the first-ever gold medal for the country in the Youth Olympic Games. He won in archery's mixed team category with Chinese partner Li Jiaman.

 

Moreno and Li won with a 6-0 victory over Cynthia Freywald of Germany and Muhamad Zolkepeli of Malaysia.

 

Ranked 30th out of 32 male archers in the competition, Moreno made the winning shots that gave him and Li the championship.

 

The duo won against Venezuela-Slovakia and Azerbaijan-Japan in the first two rounds before defeating Finland-Canada in the semis en route to the final round. — Marisse Panaligan/JST, GMA News
