August 16, 2008 7:22am

MANILA, Philippines - Another media practitioner was shot dead late Friday night, this time in Magarao town in Camarines Sur province in Bicol, a radio report said Saturday.

DZRH reported that a gunman shot dead Ronaldo Julia, as he was going home at about 11 p.m. Friday. The report described the victim as one of the "hard-hitting" commentators in Bicol.

The killing took place a week after two Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) anchors were shot in General Santos City and Roxas City in Capiz.

Julia sustained three gunshot wounds and died before doctors at a nearby hospital could treat his injuries.

The report said Julia wrote for the "Weekly Informer" newspaper and worked as a broadcaster in Naga City.

He started as a reporter with DZGE in Naga City, and worked as a station manager at DZRC in Legazpi City.
