MANILA, Philippines – The Taguig City police and the Philippine Army on Thursday combined their efforts in hunting down the suspect in the shooting incident inside the Army headquarters at Fort Bonifacio that killed two officers and injured two others.

GMA’s “Flash Report" quoted Taguig police chief Senior Superintendent Camilo Cascolan as saying that the hunt for Sergeant Elias Tial is ongoing.

Tial on Wednesday night shot his commanding officer, executive officer, team leader and First Sergeant using an M-16 rifle while the victims were huddled in a meeting.

The victims were rushed to the Fort Bonifacio General Hospital. The First Sergeant was declared dead-on-arrival, while the second victim, a first lieutenant, expired while undergoing treatment.

The two other victims are being treated at the Makati Medical Center.

Army spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Romeo Brawner Jr. said Tial was able to escape without his firearm as this was snatched away form him.
