UST, FEU spikers continue to hold sway in UAAP

Defending champion University of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University strengthened their hold of the 1-2 spots after prevailing over their respective opponents Wednesday in the 72nd UAAP menâs volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City. As expected, the Tigers and the Tamaraws made mincemeat of cellar dwellers Adamson and National University via scores of 25-19, 25-22, 25-17 and 25-8, 25-12, 25-22, respectively. John Paul Torres posted 10 hits and two blocks as he spearheadd the Tigers of coach Emil Lontoc to their 12th win against only one loss while Joshua Alcarde had nine hits, two blocks and two aces as the Tamaraws garnered their 11th victory in 13 outings.
