Ateneo de Manila and Adamson University collide in a battle for Final Four positioning Saturday in the penultimate day of the 72nd UAAP womenâs volleyball tournament eliminations at the Arena in San Juan. Tied at third and fourth with identical 9-4 win-loss slates, the Lady Eagles and the Lady Falcons square off in the 4 p.m. game that will decide the placing of the teams in the semis.
The winner of the Ateneo-Adamson tussle will finish third and get the right to face the No. 2 squad in the Final Four, University of Sto. Tomas (11-2), which carries a twice-to-beat-advantage. The loser will get the No. 4 slot and face unbeaten No. 1 La Salle (13-0), which has the same incentive as the Tigresses, in the next round. Meanwhile, three games which will decide the concerned teamsâ final placing in the season will be played starting at 9 a.m. Cellar dwellers National University (2-11) and Adamson (2-11) take the floor first to dispute seventh place while University of the Philippines (6-7) and University of the East (6-7) tangle at 11 a.m. for fifth place in the menâs division, the same placing at stake in the 2 p.m. women's match up between Far Eastern (5-8) and UP (4-9). - GMANews.TV
