Spikes on road delay delivery of ballot boxes to Cebu town

May 10, 2010 12:09pm

Spikes placed by unidentified men on the road caused a delay in the delivery of ballot boxes in Cebu province early Monday.

A report on dzXL radio said the spikes blew the tires of a dump truck delivering ballot boxes in San Fernando town in Cebu.

Initial investigation showed at least 20 spikes were placed on the road at the time of the incident.

However, the flat tire was quickly replaced and the truck eventually reached its destination in Basak village.

Police are not discounting the possibility that political rivalry was the motive for the incident. — LBG/SV, GMANews.TV
