2 killed, 2 hurt in freak road accident in Iloilo

At least two people were killed while two were injured after a six-wheeler soft-drink delivery truck they were riding figured in a freak accident in Iloilo Tuesday. Radio dzBB's Iloilo affiliate reported Wednesday the truck was heading for the soft-drink plant when it hit a tricycle in Pototan town's Iwa village in Iloilo. Killed on the spot were driver Rene Porcollo, and helper Alfredo Salgado. Rushed to a nearby hospital were helpers Freddie Lorella and Marlon Salgado, the report said. An initial investigation showed the truck came from Roxas City in Capiz, and was going to the soft-drink plant in Pototan when it slammed a parked tricycle and then hit a row of five mahogany trees before turning turtle. — LBG, GMA News
