Arroyo killed peace negotiations, says Joma
Jose Ma. Sison, founder of the Communist Party of the Philippines, said Saturday the Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo administration has effectively killed off all formal peace negotiations with the National Democratic Front (NDF).
Sison said the Arroyo regime is hell-bent on using violence to destroy leftist groups before 2010.
He said the government has put NDF negotiators and consultants in the "wanted" list of the government.
"Together with her Cabinet Oversight Committee-Internal Security, (Arroyo) has undertaken actions to kill the peace negotiations between the NDF and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines," Sison said.
The only way the negotiations could continue is for the broad united front and the mass movement to oust the Arroyo and install a new government willing to pursue the negotiations," he said.
Sison is chief political consultant of the National Democratic Front peace panel.
He said that for the last several years, the Arroyo regime has in fact committed too many breaches of joint agreements and put up so many obstacles to formal talks. -GMANews.TV
