The Energen-Pilipinas Under-16 youth team mauled Indonesia, 109-46, in the 1st Southeast Asian Basketball Association (SEABA) U16 tournament for men on Wednesday night at the Kuala Langat Basketball Stadium in Banting City, Malaysia.

The Nationals held Indonesia to just three points in the first quarter and found little resistance from their opponents in cruising to its second straight win in the five-nation tournament.

Adven Jess Diputado, held to seven points in the Philippines' 91-64 win over Malaysia on Tuesday, scored 20 against the Indonesians while getting offensive support from the 19 markers each of teammates Janhubert Angelo Cani, who also had four assists, and Arvin Dave Tolentino.

Daryl Louie Pascual had a double-double finish with 12 points and 13 rebounds also for the Olsen Racela-coached PHL youth team, which is aiming to win the title.

Only seven players scored for Indonesia, which was led by the nine markers each of Ferdia Dwi Purwoko and Hans Abraham.

The Philippines will next face Laos on Friday before closing out its elimination round campaign against Singapore on Saturday. - JVP, GMA News
