Muggers give German tourist rude welcome in Pasay City
Police in Pasay City are now tracking down a group of muggers who gave a German tourist a rude welcome to the Philippines before dawn Wednesday. The muggers, who brandished bladed weapons, held up the German and a Filipino companion on a footbridge in Pasay City, radio dzBB's Rodil Vega reported. At the time of the incident, the German tourist, initially identified only as Favian, was heading for Olongapo City to spend a vacation there, the report said. An initial investigation showed the German was fetched at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport by Filipino companion Leon Cusia, 24. They were to board a bus to Olongapo but had to cross a footbridge near EDSA Extension to get to the bus terminal. While crossing the footbridge, they were accosted by the six unidentified youths who brandished bladed weapons. Two of the youths poked the bladed weapons at the victims and took off with their music players, mobile phones, jackets, and a digital camera. One of them also took the victim's bag with documents and passport. — LBG, GMA News
