Motorists were hit anew with another fuel price hike from at least four oil firms Tuesday, with diesel prices going up as high as 90 centavos per liter.

Starting 6 a.m., Petron, Total, Shell and Chevron raised prices of their gasoline and diesel products, with most of them also raising prices of kerosene.

A report on dzBB radio Tuesday said Petron and Total raised prices of:
  • premium gas by 50 centavos per liter
  • regular gas by 70 centavos per liter
  • diesel by 90 centavos per liter
Petron also raised prices of its kerosene by 90 centavos per liter.

A separate report by dzBB's Sam Nielsen said Shell raised prices of unleaded gas by 50 centavos per liter; regular by 70 centavos per liter; and diesel and kerosene by 90 centavos per liter.

Meanwhile, dzBB's Allan Gatus reported Chevron raised prices of unleaded fuel by 50 centavos per liter; and diesel and kerosene by 90 centavos per liter.

The oil companies all said the price increase—the fourth so far this month—would reflect rising prices of fuel in the world market, the dzBB report said. –KG, GMA News
