21 more Pinoy crewmembers of stricken ship arrive in PHL

Twenty-one more Filipino crewmembers of the shipwrecked luxury cruise ship "Costa Concordia" arrived in the Philippines before noon on Friday, radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported on Friday.   The crewmembers arrived around 10:00 a.m.at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) aboard a Cathay Pacific flight.   Those who welcomed the crewmembers included officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs' Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, and their local manning agency.   The dzBB report said a third batch of more than 70 crewmembers is expected to arrive in the Philippines on Saturday aboard different flights from Italy.   On Thursday, the first batch of Filipino crewmembers of the "Costa Concordia" arrived in Manila aboard Cathay Pacific and Thai Airways flights from Rome.   Earlier, the DFA said Costa Crociere, the owner of the ill-fated cruise ship, reassured the Embassy's Emergency Response Team it will give full compensation to the Filipino crewmembers.   It will also refund their lost belongings, replace their lost cash, and issue a formal letter of undertaking detailing the company's firm commitment.   Along with the response team, a nerve center for operations was activated by the Embassy in Rome to ensure timely reporting/updating to the DFA, among others. - VVP, GMA News
