PAGASA: Rain showers, thunderstorms loom over parts of PHL
A diffused tail-end of a cold front and a wind convergence may bring rain showers and thunderstorms to several parts of the country Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
PAGASA said the diffused tail-end of a cold front is affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas while a wind convergence, where winds from different directions meet, is affecting Northeastern Mindanao.
"Southern Luzon, Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms," PAGASA said in its 5 a.m. bulletin.
Moreover, it said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and the Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east and northeast with slight to moderate seas.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said strong to gale-force winds may affect the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas.
"Fishing boats and other small sea crafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves," it said. — LBG, GMA News
