Bus catches fire along Coastal Road, no one hurt

January 30, 2012 8:06am
Early morning traffic along a portion of the Coastal Road in southern Metro Manila was disrupted Monday after a passenger bus from Tagaytay City heading for Makati City caught fire.

Traffic was disrupted for several moments at the northbound lane of the northbound (Baclaran-bound) part of Coastal Road due to the incident, radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported.

No one was initially reported injured in the incident as Parañaque fire volunteers rushed to the scene.

Christopher Guevarra, driver of the "Erjohn and Almark" bus, said he was heading for Ayala in Makati City from Tagaytay City.

"Bigla na lang ... nakita ko sa side mirror may apoy sa tagiliran," he said.

He insisted they inspected the bus before it left Tagaytay for Makati early Monday. –KG, GMA News
