Report: 4 killed in dump truck crash in Surigao del Sur
At least four people were killed, two of them students, after a dump truck crashed into a house in Tandang City in Surigao del Sur province earlier this week, police said Tuesday.
Caraga police spokesman Superintendent Martin Gamba said the incident occurred at San Isidro village in Tandang City, according to a report on Radyo Mo Nationwide (RMN).
Gamba initially identified the four fatalities as:
Injured were the victims’ classmates Joseph Ramirez and Julius Vellescas.
An initial investigation showed the dump truck (GNG-378) was loaded with sand and went out of control when its brakes failed.
The vehicle hit a house where the victims were staying.
Police are now tracking down driver Ryan Policarpio, who fled after the incident. — LBG, GMA News
