The police in Sydney, Australia arrested on Thursday a 38-year old Filipino hairstylist for allegedly setting on fire his own salon and eventually burning down the two-story commercial building where the salon was. According to a report of the news site The Filipino Australian on Friday, Edwin Dela Cruz Domingo was nabbed for the fire at No. 45 Queens Street, St Marys in Sydney. Domingo was said to be the owner of Edwin’s Hair & Beauty Salon where the fire reportedly began.

He was arrested at the St. Marys train station minutes after the fire broke out.

The report said attending firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to the adjacent St. Marys Hotel. Although there were no casualties or injuries, the police placed the damage to property at  "hundreds of thousands" of Australian dollars. The police claimed that the fire began soon after Domingo was seen removing property from the salon at around 3:20 a.m. on Thursday.

The report said Domingo admitted that he started the fire by burning some clothes.
