February 4, 2012 8:23am
Police have arrested two of three suspects in the deadly robbery of a laundry shop in Manila's Tondo district last Tuesday.

The Manila Police District (MPD) said charges are now being readied against George Padios, 28; and Noel Nuylan, 41, radio dzBB's Cecilia Villarosa reported.

Nuylan and Padios were linked to the robbery at the laundry shop where owner Kelvin Chioa, 35, was killed; and his wife Charlene and helper Maricel Lebrando were injured.

Quoting the MPD, the dzBB report said police caught Padios at the house of Kelvin's mother, where he worked as a helper.

Padios then pointed to Nuylan as one of his alleged companions in the incident, the report said.

An investigation showed the three suspects entered the laundry shop along Yakal street attacked Lebrando, who was sleeping in her four-year-old ward’s room.

Kelvin heard Lebrando’s shouts but was stabbed when he tried to help. The men also stabbed his wife.

The men then robbed the shop and abducted the Chioas’ four-year-old son and took their car, but abandoned the child and the car. — LBG, GMA News
