Govt radio briefly goes off air, 'technical difficulty' cited
Malacañang assured the public there was no sabotage involved after the government-run radio station Radyo Ng Bayan went off the air for a few minutes Saturday morning.
The outage occurred shortly after 10 a.m., during the station’s weekly scheduled interview with deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte.
“Huwag kayo mag-alala, wala tayong sabotahe, may kaunting technical difficulty,” she said.
But the interview continued on the radio station’s streaming site. The dzRB station’s streaming version is hosted on the Philippine Broadcasting Service website.
The station went back on the air after a few minutes.
Saturday’s outage occurred a day after Malacañang said it had submitted to Congress its version of the Freedom of Information (FOI) bill.
Also, Valte was to be asked questions about the fate of presidential political adviser Ronald Llamas, who was caught buying pirated video discs last Jan. 25 in a Quezon City mall. — LBG, GMA News
