DPWH: Repair work may slow weekend traffic at NCR roads
Road repair work may cause traffic to slow down this weekend in some major roads in Metro Manila, the Department of Public Works and Highways said Thursday.
In a news release posted on the Official Gazette website, the DPWH said the repair work will be from Feb. 10 (Friday) to Feb. 13 (Monday).
"Motorists and the general public are advised to expect traffic slowdown/build-up in some sections of major thoroughfares in Metro Manila as the (DPWH-NCR) will continue road improvement and maintenance works in the following areas effective 10 p.m. of February 10 (Friday) to 4 a.m. of February 13, 2012 (Monday)," it said.
These areas include:
- Sen. Gil Puyat Ave. (Buendia) from Roxas Blvd. to Macapagal Blvd., Pasay City;
- Taft Avenue (Cluster), Pasay City, from Sto. Niño St. to EDSA;
- Aurora Boulevard (southbound), Pasay City from EDSA to Andrews Avenue;
- New Panaderos St., Sta. Ana, Manila, from Sta. Ana Church to Lamayan St.;
- South Superhighway (southbound) from Zobel Roxas St. to Qurino Avenue;
- EDSA, Caloocan City, northbound lane going to Monumento, third lane from center island, between Arellano St. and M. Ponce St;
- EDSA, Quezon City, southbound third lane from West Avenue to Quezon Avenue;
- EDSA, Quezon City, third lane from Corregidor to Fema Road;
- Fairview Avenue Atherton intersection, third lane northbound going to Quirino Avenue., first lane southbound going to QMC;
- Katipunan Avenue, C-5 southbound going to Serrano Avenue, second lane from center island between Aurora Blvd. and P. Tuazon St.;
- B. Serrano Avenue eastbound going to Katipunan Avenue, first lane from sidewalk, between 20th Avenue and Katipunan Avenue; and
- P. Tramo Avenue between Makati diversion channel and EDSA center lane.
The DPWH said the repair and maintenance of these roads is being done in coordination with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
