Three people were killed while a fourth one was wounded shortly after they attended a court hearing involving a drug case in Nasugbu town in Batangas province Thursday noon.

Police have set up dragnet operations for at least four unidentified men who opened fire on the victims at Sitio Sagbat in Lumbagan village in Nasugbu at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Killed on the spot were:

  • Felipe Torio, 55
  • Lydia Torio, 55; and
  • Arnold Dulay, 35, driver.

Wounded was Alejandro Torio de Vera (alias Andrew Torio), 35, a helper. He was rushed to the Apacible Memorial District Hospital for treatment.

An initial investigation showed the victims had just attended a court hearing at the Nasugbu Regional Trial Court Branch 14 in relation to a drug case.

As they were leaving the court, the masked suspects showed up aboard a vehicle and opened fire. The victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
