Pinoy to compete in World Bartender Championships Feb. 26
A Filipino bartender will represent Asia in the final round of the 2011 "T.G.I.Friday's World Bartender Championship" in Dallas, Texas on February 26.
After besting other Asian bartenders, Sir Raminad Ong will compete against eight other contenders from Latin America, Europe, and different parts of the United States.
Friday's also hosted their first "Favorite Bartender" competition online, where fans voted for their best bets.
This year, the voting period is from January 11, 2012 to February 22, 2012. Fans can vote by going to the competition's official website.
Ong has been working at the T.G.I.Friday's restaurant in Robinson's Place, Manila for four years and has been joining competitions within and outside the country.
In the 20th anniversary of the competition last year, Attilla Farmasi from Budapest, Hungary took home $10,000 and was named the 2010 World's Greatest Bartender. - VVP, GMA News
