When disaster strikes, almost always first on the scene these days are ordinary citizens armed with cellphone cameras. These pictures and videos taken by residents of Negros and Cebu were some of the first images of the quake to be seen by the nation.

This video is almost exactly a year old, but still emerged as a top video this week. It's a report from last February 2011 about the murder of university student Myka Gutierrez, who was founded stabbed to death the home of her boyfriend in Pasay. One year after the young woman's death, Gutierrez' friends and family continue to use Facebook and Twitter to campaign for justice. -PF/GMA News
