Palasyo itinangging may kinalaman ang US sa Sulu air strikes

Itinanggi ng Malacañang nitong Linggo ang pahayag ng Communist Party of the Philippines na mga sundalong Amerikano at hindi ang Armed Forces of the Philippines ang namuno sa naganap na air strike sa Sulu kamakailan kung saan namatay umano ang tatlong top terrorist leaders. Ayon kay deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte, isa lamang itong propaganda ng CPP dahil malinaw na labag sa Saligang Batas na sumali ang mga dayuhang pwersa sa anumang combat operations sa bansa. “Propaganda lang din 'yan, walang katotohanan ang napaloob sa statement nila na US troops ang nag-conduct ng air attacks sa Mindanao," ani Valte sa dzRB radio. Nagpatawag na ang CCP ng "independent investigation" upang matukoy ang kinalaman ng mga sundalong Amerikano sa bombing at air raids sa bayan ng Parang nitong Feb. 2. Ayon sa CCP, nagsasagawa sila ng imbestigasyon upang makumpirma ang pahayag ng AFP na tatlong matataas na opisyal ng Jemaah Islamiyah at Abu Sayyaf ang kabilang sa mga napatay sa nasabing air strike. “All the information has come from the AFP which has been known to issue distorted and self-serving statements. There should be an independent investigation to look into the involvement of American soldiers belonging to the Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines (JSOTF-P) in the planning, provision of intelligence and surveillance information, actual execution and logistical support to the military operation leading to the air raids,” ayon sa CCP. “Such involvement of US troops violates Philippine national sovereignty.
