3 suspected robbers killed in Manila, QC

At least two suspected robbers were killed in an encounter with police in Manila while another suspected robber was shot dead in Quezon City before dawn Monday.
 
In Manila, two suspected robbers were killed in an encounter with police in Tondo shortly after robbing passengers of a jeep, radio dzBB's Rodil Vega reported.
 
The report quoted Manila Police District Station 2 head Superintendent Jemar Modequillo as saying the shootout occurred along Morga Street.
 
An initial investigation showed the two had just held up passengers of a jeep plying the Tondo-Divisoria route and got off at Moriones Street.
 
During a follow-up operation, a police team chanced on the suspects and cornered them at Morga Street. The suspects allegedly fired at the police, who fired back.
 
Recovered from the suspects were two cal-.38 revolvers.
 
In Quezon City, meanwhile, a suspected robber was shot dead in the city's Payatas area.
 
Police identified the slain suspect as "Junior Buang," who was linked to several robbery cases in the area. The victim died of a gunshot wound to the head, the report said.
 
Recovered from him was an improvised shotgun. — RSJ, GMA News
