It is not the first time Mayweather has used the race card against Asian athletes. In 2010, Mayweather went live on video streaming site Ustream to talk about Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao. In his live rant, he mentioned that he will "cook that little yellow chump".
"Once I stomp the midget, I'll make that (expletive) make me a sushi roll and cook me some rice," said Mayweather.
Mayweather's tweet is similar to a comment given by Isiah Thomas in 1987, when the famous Detroit Piston guard told reporters that if Larry Bird were black he ''would be just another good guy,'' after losing to Bird's Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Thomas later said that he meant his comment in a joking manner.
Lin, however, seems determined to continue with his impressive play. He has now averaged 26.8 points in his last five games, delivering five straight wins for the New York Knicks. Part of his five-game record-setting performance includes a 38-point game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
